Obama and Bush Shaking Hands

Early next week President Bush is scheduled to meet with America’s 44th elected president, Barack Obama.

They will discuss matters of national security, international politics, the Iraq war, the global financial crisis and all other issues that will be passed on from the old president to the new one on the 20th of January.President Bush also wants to express his congratulations to President-elect Obama for his great campaign, and for his resounding victory.

He declared that, since Mr Obama is still choosing the members of his team, his advisors will be more than happy to give them a briefing on all important ongoing national projects, laws, as well as on economy and on foreign policies.

Bush also said that he will do all he can to ensure that, within approximately 75 days, Mr Obama and his team are more than prepared to take over the White House and the presidency of the United States, without even noticing they have only started their activity.

President -elect Obama and the members of his transition team are already being treated as such; they have been given security clearance for the White House, and some of them even receive updates on cases containing classified information.

Dick Cheney, U.S. Vice President

Vice President Dick Cheney could not attend a campaign event he had scheduled for today in the state of Illinois because of abnormal heart activity.

His medical history includes a long list of heart problems, and what happened yesterday only goes to confirm that is it turning into a chronic disease.

After being consulted by the White House medical staff, he was then transferred to George Washington University Hospital, and diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, which means that his heart was beating at an abnormal rhythm.

His spokeswoman, Megan Mitchell, told the press all was going fine and that after the electrical impulse treatment he had received, Mr. Cheney went back to the White House and carried on with his schedule.

This new heart crisis has forced the Vice President to cancel his participation at a campaign luncheon in Illinois for Marty Ozinga, who is a candidate to the Congress seat left open by Jerry Weller.

In January 2009 the United States of America will have a new president, someone who will take over what G.W. Bush has managed to leave behind; a country going through a serious financial and economic crisis, militarily insecure and much less respected than it used to be.

He is also appreciated for his power of persuasion, for his economic and political plans, for the team he works with, which is an extremely competent one. His plans for improving the environment and health policies, the tax system and external politics (mostly the Iraq War and the Al-Qaeda issue), seem to have convinced many Americans and press representatives.
